Artists Choose Artists

This exhibition features recent works by many of Sioux City’s most prominent artists. The added twist to this overview of local art is that each of the invited artists is inviting a guest artist to participate. Among the artists who are participating are John Bowitz, Paul Chelstad, Karen Chesterman, Amy Foltz, Ron Johns, Mark Kochen, Terri McGaffin, Ann McTaggart, Cathy Palmer, Pauline Sensenig, Nan Wilson and Jan Zelfer-Redmond. Working in cooperation with the art teachers of Sioux City Community Schools, the Art Center is presenting a series of exhibitions featuring work by elementary, middle and high school students. This exhibition includes art produced by elementary school students at schools located in the north region of Sioux City.

rosenquistDid you know that Morningside College, through its Helen Levitt Collection, has an outstanding collection of late 20th century prints? Works by artists such as Jasper Johns, James Rosenquist, Roy Lichtenstein, Helen Frankenthaler and Frank Stella will make the drive across the Floyd River to find a temporary home in the Art Center’s galleries.
