Work by Students in West Middle and High School

Working in cooperation with the art teachers of Sioux City Community Schools, the Art Center is presenting a series of exhibitions featuring work by elementary, middle and high school students. While the annual Youth Art Month exhibition allows the Art Center to showcase a wide range of student work through a competitively juried exhibition, the exhibitions in the Community Gallery permit teachers to select the best works produced by their students. Both projects are testaments to the creative energy of our community’s teachers and the artistic talent of our young artists.

Indoor Mini-Golf Holes Designed by Sioux City Architectural Firms

Area architects are turning their sense for creative constructions toward one of our favorite summertime outdoor activities: miniature golf. Brought indoors for this special exhibition, the holes in the Art Center’s galleries will function both as imaginative sculptures and as genuine mini-golf holes.

This exhibition features works from the Permanent Collection, none of which have a title, either because the artist chose not to title the work or because the title has been lost over time. Visitors will be encouraged to assign titles for the works, with the more creative titles being posted as labels next to the work.
